Hi all.

after passing my test in april, i began driving my ledbury maestro 1.3
in june i purchased a maestro TD to replace the ledbury as my daily hack :)

anyhow, the TD needs moting and i need to carry out some work for the mot and while im doing this, i want to do lots of other things aswell. therefore im putting the ledbury back on the road for a while.

the only issue i have is that when i moved the ledbury the other day, after sitting unused for sometime, the brake warning light illuminated on the dash.

whats a possible cause for this?

it wasnt illuminated before

any ideas please as i want to get a maestro back on the road pronto as im having to put up with a toyota carina atm! things are desperate!

thanks in advance :)

Which warning light Ben? Is it the (!) or (P) or (o). Maybe it's low on fluid?

the orange warning light comes on if the o/s front pads have worn down to a minimum & the red (!) one comes on if the fluid is running low (indicating a leak) the park one comes up isf the heandbreak is on.

if the red (!) lights come up then check the level in the reservoir, if its full it could be a faulty switch in the cap, if its not full then you need to find out where its leaking from.

if park light wont go out then the handbrake switch is probably stuck on.

and the pad warning light is a normally open circuit that ends with 2 contacts hidden in the pad when as the pad wears out the contacts become exposed and make a circuit through the disk. So if that lights come on it means the pads are worn out or the cable has faulted together.
