As you may know, the last ever Concorde flight is this Friday before they are taken away and put in meuseums around the world. This week is Concorde's 'Farewell' tour of the UK - which saw me and a few thousand others stood in the freezing cold to catch a last glimpse of the plane on its last ever flight into Manchester Airport.

Despite the freezing weather, the atmosphere was amazing - and the sight of it touching down was definatley one to remember!

Its a great shame that such an important aircraft will no longer by flying. So much for progress!

I work a few miles away from the airport and our office took part in the street party that seemed to be happening outside the office :)

Shame we won't see Concorde around again - I always wanted to fly in it :(

Wasn't Richard Branson going to buy them for Virgin Adlantic?

He wants to, but BA won't let him.

Hi,

Work at Filton (Bristol) and we are getting one for our new museum.

Apparently, rumour, if BA stop flying Concorde then they can fill all the seats on their Jumbos.

Airbus do not want to service her (Oooer missis) but there are other engineering companies waiting.

Branson even offered to donate a couple of million to keep a couplew flying for charity and fun raising use. Guess what BA said.

Concorde is the highest profit making plane ever (paid for by public funds).

America does not like it because they failed (well cancelled) at thier version.

American Motto : Everythings great aslong as it is made in the USA.

Coincidently America are developing the next generation of high speed planes.

Finally

I think that there are only 5 military aircraft that can out perform her AND we do not have one yet. Eurofighter can (just)

Concorde...

Singapore Airlines used to have a few of these. Didn't fly too long, probably only one or two years. Because the Singapore airport was so close to Malaysia, once a plane take off it enters Malaysian territory.

Malaysia wasn't to happy with the noise. Think the planes went to Air France or British Airways. Pity...
