Found this Montego on http://www.virtual-showroom.co.uk

Car is a 2.0 petrol manual with 34,000 miles and is not too bad a price at £1480 (going by the car's condition).

It's at Hallmark cars in Bedford.

There's also this limo on ebay:-

Guess who's just had a play with that limousine...

I couldn't resist. If I look nervous it's because there were possibly as few as 3 of these built, I'm not used to autos (or 5+ metre long cars for that matter) and owner Lee is more than a little passionate about his :o

So having almost remodelled this rare beast twice, it's actually quite a refined ride once you get used to it. Well worth a look if only for the attention from passers by alone!

Ebay gives more details than I possibly could. I'd say parts of the interior might need tidying, but there are no major bodywork issues yet by the looks of it so let's hope it finds a caring home with someone prepared to spend the money required to keep this one preserved now.

Well Johnathon Your driving of my limo was certainly entertaining for me and our six other passengers.
Especially when you nearly had us written off twice.
You did do well though for your first time in an auto and in a limo.

The pictures are great. Why did you slag my interior off?
All it needs is a clean and the other six people out and its lovely.
The leather has no tears and very little signs of wear.
Its got years left in it.

I have had another offer from abroad, I would rather it was kept in the country.

But the money will talk.

So all you Monty fans that want to start their own wedding or chaufeur business, beg, borrow or steal and get a unique car.

Anyone wanting to view call me on 01903 779363 or 07881 975135.

Be warned tyre kickers will be kicked.:shoot: :rage:

Thanks for the mention, lets hope it helps it sell.
I may even be keeping it yet as after talking with Jonathon and him nearly writing it off twice at two Roundabouts I realised how much I love the old girl. :banghead:

Keep it!

I'm not sure what's up with the images on this thread, but it has crashed AOL twice. (I am typing this now with the "AOL has encountered a problem and needs to close..." window up... :banghead: )

Anyways, very nice motor - I say keep it!

It's an interesting one, that's for sure - especially as we have very little to go on at present as far as the "Warwick" limousines are concerned. Fully laden it takes a little while to stop if you're not used to it too! ;)

Interiors are difficult to judge on a car that's in daily use, any potential purchaser would have to make their own observations. One would assume that the ultimate aim with a car this rare would be to have everything absolutely 'mint'.

Unless you really want to keep it, I take it that's not supposed to be taken as read!

Glad you had a good time! Must admit that the limos are special cars, the only other one I've seen was a white one last year in Autotrader but I can't remember what reg it was. Must be a nightmare replacing some of those parts on it though. Those shiny side rubbing strips are custom made for starters and yellow with age and also the glass must be custom made. Maybe the hat will be thrown in with the deal?

The glass is custom made for the coacbuilders that convert the car.

Heres a little useless imformation for you:

The only glass that is different is the rear doors and the rear quarter lights.

These are exactly the same as are fitted to the Ford Dorchester Limousines.(Crafty Coachbuilders saving money and still charging between £38000-£80000 for a car like this when new)

The glass can be ordered through any windscreen company worth their salt.

And as for the trims going yellow. Watch how you park and you wont damage them.

I have owned over 50 montego's and Maestros and I have never seen a yellow trim yet.

PLease prove me wrong with a photo or send it with Jonathon and I will print this message and eat my words.

I'm not having a go (far from it) , I'm just curious about the chrome trims as the Montego & Maestro VDP I've had as spares in the last couple of years have lost the chrome effect on their trim. It must be due to excessive sunlight exposure and/or not keeping the car clean. I know that chrome strips are still available for both cars however at £30 per set approx. The rubbing strips were £300+ (new old stock) at least for a set last time I checked. I didn't buy any side strips (did without) but opted to mod my TD 'MG Turbo' style instead (but put on the stainless mirrors and shiny bumper inserts).:)

This is what I'm rattling on about......still, it's not exactly the end of the world as I've mentioned above;) NB: The scan's a bit dark but it shows what happens over time to all the shiny trim.

Thanks for the pics.

As promised page has been printed and words will be eaten.

My car was converted by proffessional coachbuilders and even the interior is better quality leather than the normal monty interiors. This would probably explain the lack of discolouring in my chrome strips.

I also clean my cars to a very high standard and the Limo gets washed and polished at least twice a week.

Well all I can say is what a fantastic car. The limo conversion suits the Montego very well. I can personally vouch that Maestro's make good wedding cars too!:)
