Hi all. Been away for a while so not posted, hope everyones ok. Unfortunately my return is with some bad news. Sometime last night while I was at work (Nottm train station) some evil little b******s decided to chuck a lump of concrete through the passenger side door window :rage: Presumably after my stereo, fortunately they've not taken anything as im guessing my alarm did a wonderful job and scared them off before they had chance to cause any more damage. As there was a lot more new and expensive cars in the car park I assume they thought it was easy pickings but as i say "luckily" they never managed to nick owt. Left me with the job of picking a million pieces of shattered glass out of my car and it got in every nuck and cranny and also took a nice chunk out of the steering wheel where the concrete belted into it. Reported to the police who weren't really interested, apparently cant take prints off the lump of tar-ish stuff as its too sticky, probably more interested in getting into position for catching me out speeding on the drive home. Anyway got it booked in for tommorrow at AutoWindscreens but it's 85-00 I didnt really want to be spending. All in all very pi***d off! :banghead:

Sorry to hear it. :rage:
Couldn't you just get some glass from the scrappers for less than a tenner? - very easy to fit.

Too true!! One of my pet soapbox rants! Another one is "why are speed-cameras rarely located near accident-blackspots? Instead many of them are hidden behind trees and bushes on long straight country roads in the middle of nowhere" :rage: :rage:

That very bad news, and a right royal pain in the ass.
I agree with M170 - nip to the local scrapper and fit the glass yourself. It's not *too* bad a job even though you may spend about three days getting the winding mechanism to locate in the runners.
Seriously tho, you'd probably spend about £15 tops and have the job done in about 2 hours.

Had to say that it is a shame you were vandalised.
Can only blame the parents and modern social standards.
In reply to G51NAV not all straight roads are safe.
Was following my mate on our motorbikes on a lovely straight stretch of the Old Great North Road (Doncaster - Bawtry) at a nice pace when his wheels went from under him. The cause was the wrong (Railway style) road surface with the wrong type of wind.
Think, breaking the lawm is illegal - speeding.
If we did not have enforced speed limits what speed would you drive at (honestly) and what speed the other users.
So a straight bit of road becomes a dangerous race track. THATS the reason for speed limits.
Cameras keep our roads safe AND let the Police do other things.
