maestro van door handles

can anyone tell me if you can get metal door handles for a maestro 700 van
because i've looked at three vans this week and all have broken plastic handles, if so what off?, are they expencive?, and are they easy to fit or would it be better to take it to a garage for them to do?

mmm.... aren't they same as the cars? montego/maestro/metro??

You can get a metal door handle from any of the following and they will fit perfectly.

Maestro hatch, Montego saloon/estate, Austin/Rover Metro/100.

Simple to fit as well, 2 x 8mm nut accesed from inside the door.

fitted new handle on went round 2 scrap yard they said they didnt have any, dont think they could be bothered really, then popped to a little place with only a dozen or so cars they only had one black metal passenger side hadle
better than none, fitted it which would have been easy if i had a socket set instead i had to use one of then old push bike spanner the ones shaped like a bone with about 8 different sizes so it took ages. all worth it now it work.
