Hi Guys,started making a pattern along the lines of the one Roversport use to supply,this was earlier in the year,this pattern i finished and took to a fabrication shop earlier this week,i have asked for two prices one in 6mm 7075 grade alloy i think it is,well its tougher and stronger than ordinary alloy,and one in 4mm steel,its a design with side gussets flat bar reinforcing straps,it is made so the filter and oil can be changed without removing the sump gaurd.
the reason i asked for the two different materials and prices was down to the fact the fabricator said that this grade alloy was very expensive and a bit over the top for the use on roads and not in the rallying envioroment,and the cost between the two materials would be shall we say significant,i have asked for a price on 1+10 as i do know i shall definately be getting one,as my car is so low its a matter of time before i damage either the sump or gearbox.
I have put this advert on Tripple-M. also and offering anyone the oppertunety to buy one,the cost will be shown and a small charge for my efforts and work in getting this item made and sent to whoever buys one.
I hope to get a price sorted for the weekend.
Anyone who is provisionally interested please post up or send me a PM,it would be great to get this group buy together,but i do know these buys are a pain usually to get together. Last thing this sump gaurd will fit the T16 conversion and the standard 8v varient,possibly the Montego too,this i shall find out. regards stuart.
