Hello All
Just thought I'd let you all know where we are upto preparing for our little jaunt to Africa in our Montego Estate. Since I last posted a message the car has now been repainted by hand in a lovely shade of bright orange! The headlight fault still hasn't been fixed so at the moment we restricted to driving the car during the day. Hopefully this weekend we will fix the fault and fit the CD player.
Additionally we have now found a home for the car in the Gambia - which I am delighted about. Instead of the car being sold at the auction I have been in contact with the Gambian Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. The charity is currently funded by Comic Relief but the funding runs out in December. They are hoping to set up sign language centres in ruralt parts of the Gambia that are currently inaccesable due to the fact that they do not have a vehicle. On our arrival in the Gambia they will take delivery of the Montego. As the Montego is less than what you would call common in the Gambia I have recommended that they join this forum and so be able to benefit from the sort of advice and assistance that I have been given. It will be interesting to see how the Montego manages in Africa because I cannot see rust being an issue!
Regards
Jon.
