<<< How do you get an image of your car next to your status? :banghead:

Go to "Edit profile" at the top, then "edit options". The avatar options are at the bottom of the page.

You can also attach an image in your post using the vB code IMG in the 'Post Reply' box. Which is what I'm trying to do but without success so far.

Still can't get the photo to appear. http://www.photobox.co.uk/album/album_fullsize.html?c_photo=2202146
Only the link, Oh well.
Hmm... let me see if I can get one to work...

Yep, that worked.
I tried clicking on your link and got a "you are not logged in" error message, so maybe that site doesn't allow linking to other sites.

Excuse me for being highly immature and posting a message just to see whether my little image ('avatar') works!

A post to see my new Leyland Logo...
Also - does anyone know how to get signatures to appear at the bottom of posts? I have typed one in, but it does not appear.
Richard
My signature's not showing either.

I hadn't bothered to put in a signature, but you've got me curious now. Will this work?

How bizarre. It appears when I preview my reply, but then doesn't show up in the 'real thing', as it were.
One other thing, which should probably be put in the Announcements & Feedback section: Am I right in saying that the only 'ordinary' reply button (i.e., not reply with quote) is at the top of the forum? I find this infuriating because, having read that to which I wish to reply at the bottom, I have to scroll back to the top to reply! Am I missing something obvious? Or is the 'Reply with quote' button not what I think it is?

Signatures are now enabled, however you won't be able to include an image in your signature. I'm not being a killjoy, it's just that threads on forums where a lot of contributors use signatures incorporating big images take an age to download especially for users with a slow connection. Also note that I'll just delete any sigs that advertise anything!
Good to see some avatars in use, it's helpful to have a clear visual picture of the car we're talking about and you'll be spotted quicker at the shows too.

Hello there all!
Just posting to see if my avatar works...
Probably play around with them til I get one I like - but for now, it'll stay as a pic of my maestro, warts and all

Thats fair enough, but surely you could put a file size limit/pixel size limit into the parameters so that people with decent signatures like mine can still be displayed without slowing down peoples connections? Mines only 450x150, not exactly huge.

Its not just the individual image size thats the worry, when you have 10 or even 20 of them, it all starts to add up.

He's right, you know :)
I could be swayed, but apart from the download size issue I find signature graphics all over the place messy and distracting, and they don't really fit in with the design of the site.

Personally i think my sig is quite classy, and fits in well, it is, after all, a maestro...

Have been in 'user options' and selected a different avator from a different source, but it hasn't changed on my posts... any clues?
