Ever since reading various discussions on here about mayo in the oil filler/breather system, I've been looking for Duckhams to see if it's better in my car - but haven't found it anywhere!

Tried various car shops, garagews, Halfords.......

Any ideas anyone?

I used to get mine from autojumbles... I know they sell it in 'Macsons', the BL parts shop in Bury, too. Not so useful for you, though, sorry Bobbi.

How are you and Doris, then?

My local 'MotorWorld' sells Duckhams engine oil. Have you a MotorWorld near you Bobbi? I've found Halfrauds to be a bit naff these days.

Nope, no Motorworld near here.

I agree, I dopn't think I'm enough of a chav to shop in Halfords - altho I have to pop in now and then for my lead replacement additive!

Ditto here, Bobbi. Can't see it anywhere. I have noticed there's a new(ish) castrol oil out: GTX for High mileage engines. On investigation through the websites this seems to have similar properties in terms of thickness/temperature etc to Duckham's. I've tried this and it seems to be very much better than ordinary GTX at resisting mayo.

I've emailed Duckhams to ask if it's still available and if so where to get it - watch this space!

I managed to get 20/50 Duckhams at the small auto spares shop in Chipping Norton. Not cheap though!

There may not be a 'motorworld' down you're way, but isnt there a chain of shops called "Discount Motor Spares" (or similarly named).

My other half used to use them when at home ( Blandford/corfe Mullen way)
