Hey all havn't been on for a while because i havnt had a maestro in a while. after the little blowing up the engine incident.
anyway i'm thinking of doing another little project. can anyone send me in the right direction or tell me here if the Rover turbo engine out the 200/600 or 800 can fit in the maestro (i no it can but does it require majour bodging ;) or is it stright swap)

hi,the engine swap is really easy
you only need to swap the cambelt end mount for the maestro one (bolted onto the rear of the head)
or fit a r800 one and mod the chassis mounting point.
all the other mounts are the same.
the wiring is another matter, although it has been done many times before so there is info out there.
1 thing you will need to do though is rebuild the gearbox as they fall apart with mods
my t16 converted car has been off the road for about 5 weeks and i have just taken it for a little spin, and scared myself silly

loads of info on there
hope this helps

There are quite a few maestros running 220/420/620/820 T16 turbo engines (and a few running M16's).
There are a few things that need sorting out such as a cut out for the PAS pipes, the engine mount, wiring, exhuast etc.
Several members on www.triple-m.co.uk have started threads about T16 conversions, the achives on the old MG BBS has many threads, there is even a page on the MGOC site about the conversion.
If you go to my website (addr at the bottom of the signiture) you will see how not to do a conversion (link on my t16 page).
