Vibration

Hi, a friend has a 1.3 maestro, but when he applies the brakes he can feel a vibration through the steering column, but when the pedal is depressed harder the vibration disappears, any ideas? pads and discs have got enough life left in them....

Sounds like..

You have a loose caliper ,

or a disk or pad could be slightly warped .

cool thanks, I will let him know, I spent the afternoon repairing some bits and pieces.... strangely he was missing a pipe from the exhaust to the air intake system... carb pot was a little empty on oil and so was the engine oil too... he said the engine was a little thirsty... revved the engine a little and loads of smoke from the exhaust.... the car only gets used around town..... but now runs as a 1.3 engine should.;)

the empty dash / carb pot had me confused for a while when it ran out , and G733 KKW , wouldnt let off acceleration on junctions , or cut out climbing hills :rolleyes:


i get that smokey thing too :giveup: Only used about town ..
