it didnt last long.. :(

I was "running" ella up today on idle , on the drive .. just ticking over ..

was actually seeing where the cooling fan cut in.. so if and when im driving or for further knoledge , and its gets hot and not coming down , i know its time to look for a layby etc . ;) anyway...

I looked up from fitting new break leavers on my bike after a morning incident.. and saw lots of black thick smoke.

i herd the neighbours jeep starting , and put it down to this...

a few mins later , a mate turned up , pointing out the now alot thinner , smoke from my exhaust..

when revved.. i have alot of smoke.. i dont mean bit of fumes.. i mean an old diesle vans smoke , on the emmisions test . THAT sort of smoke. it actually looked diesle too.

i adjusted the mixture on the carb yesterday .. it now no longer stinks , however is smokey..

any ideas?

ta in advance..

Sounds like a typical ultra low mileage car to me perhaps it needs a damn good clear out!! Mind you it will only be just about run in, i wuold have thought oil change and gently coaxing it into more use and it will be ok, i had a 1300 that did this i changed the oil a few times in a short period with use and it cleared up nicely!

I'll agree with that. Sounds like it has been run at weekends only and not exceeded 40mph in its life. They do tend to clog up with this use.

Clear it out with some Redex (just done this with mine actually) and give it a 'blow through', i.e. good run.
