Just a quickie.
I've got a lot of water being picked up in the freshly-waxed rear valence in the boot - the factory wax is still there! It's coming from up by the rear OS window.
Now: theres a hole behind the window there, however, there is on the otherside as well but that doesn't leak.
I'm guessing these holes are there for a reason? - or should i get them patched up?
The holes aren't visable from the outside, but if you look by the rear seat belt mount by the window, there's light on both sides.
I think the seal on the window is going, but can anyone else see light behind their rear seat belt points? - from in the boot.
Any help would be much aprreciated,
Graham

You have lost me there  Can you get a picture.. The seal on the rear quarter lights pushes over the metal all round so you shouldnt see any day light apart from through the glass ;)

Will you be using the Angel Grinder to grind back the weld when you have welded the back doors and the quarterlights up ?

Didn't think angels were into that sort of thing... :o
You sorted this leak out then Graham? You don't want it leaking into the rear suspension turrets. Also, considering this warm weather, have you been using a cover on the windscreen/dashboard?

Rear as in the tailgate window? I can't see how it would get in through those seals as it would be inside the tailgate iself, not the car. I thought you meant the rear 1/4 windows as Sean said? If so the water would be getting to the suspension turrets which isn't good.
I dunno how the water is getting into the rear valance. I have this problem myself (well, my car...) and have no idea where it's coming in from. My car has been shunted in the past though.

Water getting into the rear valance is usually due to either an ill-fitting tailgate or ill-fitting (or worn) boot seal :)

I wouldn't say "they all do that, Sir!"... but many of them do - Montegos like to play this little game too :banghead: .
Check also for water ingress around the rear lights ;) .
