Just a brief reminder that the deadline for contributions to the next edition of Monstro will be next weekend as published in the current magazine (to give us some chance of getting it to press on time). If anything outstanding can be emailed to me before then I'd be grateful. With all that's happened this summer there should be plenty to read about.
Ta :)

Please can I bring to the attention of those members who went on the M-Car Rally...
Please check your inboxes for a draft item on 'our Rally' for your input and please can I have replies by the end of Friday 26/9/03. We can then, as a group, put together an item on this Historic Event over the weekend and meet the deadline for the next edition of Monstro. I have spoken to Terry and he is providing material for the write-up as well.
I am merely coordinating our thoughts and responses, and trying desperately *not* to monopolise the writing of the report from scratch.
Thanks in advance.:)

Got Monstro through today...
Have to say, starting on the front cover, F322 FRB is a Maestro and a half! I love it!  :D
Good article on RVJ on page 6... *logs on to eBay*
Thanks for the article on the M Car Rally. Great job there! As for the "What Car?" write up on the Maestro on page 16, that woman wants her head testing. "I didn't find the Maestro's ride very comfortable..." Where did she drive it??!!
"...For me this car is too slow to respond..." Errrrrm, a 1.6. Slow to respond... hmmmmmm... I thought dads 1.6 used to be pretty quick of the mark!!
"...with too many turns of the steering wheel..." well, that I can agree with..
"...The spaciousness of the interior is spoiled by the digital speedo..." Perhaps not used to such technology with owning a "Renault 5TS" eh...
Moving on to page 17... I've never seen that car before!  ;)
Overall, another great issue!

I find it hard to agree. After all, there is only one very distant picture of my car this time - you can hardly even see it.
This magazine is going downhill, I tell you. I never thought I'd see the day when this once proud publication was full of Maestro Specials. ;)

Well, it made me laugh! I certainly didn't mean it seriously. Well, not that seriously anyway.

Think some of you people need to lighten up and learn how to take sarcasm...

Can I not just write a paragraph on the magazine without people making a joke of it?
Ok, put a little sarcasm into it, but the whole post doesn't have to be!

Oops, my fault - no offence intended Steve. I was just feeling in a sarky mood and didn't expect you to take it so seriously.
You can usually spot the light-heartedness of a post from the smilies used - I would have thought you, as a prolific user of them, would have spotted that!

to be honest it made me laugh when i read it, it was very light hearted. only really as bad as posting an irrelevant picture or going off topic?

This isn't "Off Topic," this is Announcements and Feedback. If I can't give feedback on the magazine then what's the point.

I decided to put this theorem to the test,
I went into the maestro technical forum and conducted a basic search into a random subject, for some reason my choice was "stereo wiring".
The search yeilded two results, i was imediatly drawn to a post which had had 103 replies which had been started by maestro matt!, I thought this surly must be worth a read because a hundred and three 'on topic' replies had been made.
I began to read the post with interest and then strangely the topic went very off with a small group of members using it as what appeard to be a chat room!

but surely no member on here would be complaining about off topic posts if they were involved in that conversation, would they??
:D

Lighten up steve it was meant as a light hearted joke. Your contribution was very much valued, and by maestro matt commenting on it, he obviously thought it was a good read.
