As If The Problems With My Windscreen Wipers Were Not Enough

A Couple Of Days Ago The Two Door Handles On The Drivers Side Of My MG Maestro Decided To Break And Come Away From The Door !
Both On The Same Day
I Went To Open The Door And It Just Broke Same With Rear .
I Have Managed To Get The Handles Sort Of Stuck Back In Place But The Doors Will Not Open As The Mechanism Inside Must Have Come Off Or Something ?
Now I Have To Use The Passenger Door And Lean Across And Open The Drivers Door :censored:
My MG Maestro Is A Fantastic Car But Build Quality I Am Begining To Wonder lol

Is Replacing The Door Handles (As Both Of The Rear Of The Handles Are Broke) And Getting The Doors Working Again An Easy Job Or What Only I Am Not An Expert With Car Jobs

Can Anyone Help ?????
Thanx

Dead easy! You'll need to undo your window winder handle, unless you have electric windows, armrest/door pocket etc from the door, and then remove the door trim card. The handles are held on with 2 10mm nuts - undo them, remove the handle, and then fit new one and replace card.

Its a common problem, especially in winter...

Looks like it is coming too :(

The door handles are a weak point of the design. It's a case of relocating a displaced bit of metal to the other side of the rear of the new door handle to where it is now with the door handle half-open. Makes sense with the door stripped in front of you - you can do it by feel...
