Anyone know what the thing pointed to with the red arrow is? Also, what does the cover pointed to with the yellow arrow actually cover?

Whilst disconnecting everything in the engine to replace the head gasket I too couldn't work out what those parts where (no meantion in the Haynes manual as far as I could see) - and most amazing, this was the exact same time your message was posted :)

My current car does not have power steering hence I didn't know. However, I checked the perkins prima haynes manual last night and it's in there.

Many of us don't make derogatory remarks about the later Haynes manuals for nothing ;) - "Haynes' book of dreams" is just one :laugh: . Seems to be a bit of a pointless exercise producing such a book if important bits get missed out :banghead: .

Now show me a manual from around 1995 and I'll show you a Haynes manual with almost everything in - and the earlier ones will tell and show you everything you need :confused: .
