Welcome to this little band of enthusiasts. Also nice to see you own a Monty: I think it's no secret to say that Montys are under-represented on both this BBS and the MG BBS, so you're especially welcome :)

My name is Rich and I'm a Montego driver - and proud to say it!
The Maestro Technical Forum gets more Threads and Posts, but then again most of the Technical Forums' content relates to both models anyway. On a recent 'Northern Rally' based on Manchester there were 3 Maestros, 2 Montegos (one Saloon, mine, and a Convertible/Cabriolet, what would you call your Montego, Tony?) and 2 Maestro Campers, which goes to show you can attempt to prove anything with Statistics (ie there are plenty of Campers around - there aren't - but, yes, Maestro owners outnumber Montego members).
We Montego owners are in the minority, so welcome!

Hi John. As my nickname on this forum suggests, I'm into vanning. I had a look at your profile and see you are in business with Allegros (Spare parts business?). My Dad would be interested in that, as he owned several during the 1980's.;)

Oi, Tony!
Monty models himself on the General Belgrano... anyway, see Maestro Technical Help thread on 'cork'. Monty never smoked so bad til the last oil change, except when he got a sumpful of 10w/40. I'll have to do something - even the people at work today were saying I gassed them when I backed up to the office under an open window this morning. I'm not sure what's happened to Duckhams Q but the latest oil change has been a disaster with respect to Monty's smoking habit (ie he's just started in earnest...) - related to a new brew in the new plastic cans??? The price went up from about £8 to £12 - mebbe try Unipart stuff? 'Green' is the stuff for a decent 20w/50 if memory serves (if it doesn't ignore me...)
Fair cop re the smoking, and I'd say Tony's car is a Convertible in the spirit of the BMW 3-series Baur conversion of the '80s... Is that OK, Tony?
