Hi if you have a good spark then the coil wires are ok.

The leads look in the right order but if someone has ever had the distributor drive out it could have been put back wrong, so the position of number one lead could be in the wrong place.

Try put the engine to tdc with number 1 cyl on compression and see if the rotor arm points to number 1 plug lead, if it doesn't then the distributor drive is in wrong,

If it is not pointing to number 1 then the easiest way is to move the leads in the cap i.e. if the rotor arm points to number 3 plug lead then put number 1 here and work round in firing order with the other leads.

So that will be lead 1 where 3 is now.......... 3 where 4 is now....... 4 where 2 is now.......... 2 where 1 is now

If rotor arm points to number 2 lead then move the leads appropriately.

Cheers Gary :)

Hi its the boyfriend, I checked the connections and I put them all in order, I contacted steve, the girlfriend had put the connections on the ignition coil in the wrong order, once they were put on in the correct order things were ok!strong words have been said! and Im getting pizza lol.
