Great News!
My Efi is risen from the ashes once again. Almost 400 pounds later, a head skim, a new head gasket, new head bolts (ouch, that was an expensive one) my baby is back, and sounding great! The garage did a good job, and also replaced my thermostat free. They found my heaters weren't working properly (which i've known about for ages) and had a spare thermo lying around. Its made a bit of a difference, its now blowing warm instead of cold air. I guess i'll need to replace the heater matrix but thats another thread!
My next question is this: the mechanic told me "not to thrash it straight away". I assume I have to treat it like a brand new engine but dont know why or for how long. Oh, and before anyone has a heart-attack - i dont thrash it anyway, i'm a proud Efi owner and dont wanna damage anything!
Happy days are here again!
