Bonjour everyone! Hope you're all well.

I fitted a new exhaust system to my VDP yesterday. Before putting it on i thought the bore of the tubing on the middle section was significantly wider than the original, and indeed it was.. but it fits fine! Didnt think anything of it until i started up, its got a REALLY sporty kind of noise!! The front section and the tail section are the same as the old exhaust, but its the middle section that seems to have much wider tubing, and i can help thinking this is the reason for the sporty noise... Is it possible that ive been given an MG MAestro spec middle section? Would it fit? The silencer looks the same as my old exhaust, its just the tubing, and something must be different! I just wondered.. whatever the reason, it sure is a superb noise.. fantastic even!

Cheers,
Topgear, top-notch!

GGT's exhaust sounds great. Although RDGelder told me it sounds like a modified Nova...
Maybe Rich could take a sound clip of it next time he's down with his digi camera... :D   :)

*Boy Racer Alert*

What have you been doing to it to achieve that authentic sound - pushing holes in it?

No, we sealed up the holes with Gun Gum in fact to get it through the MOT!  :)

Ah, that's why the engine is clattering!  ;)

No really, it is all sealed (where it should be!) and it's making more of a modded Nova sound than before!

Most probably cause is the baffles have rusted out of the silencers. Same thing happened on my R200 backbox, when I removed it this weekend and shook it large lumps of metal were heard inside not attached to anything :D. My new "boyracerish" stainless bckbox is actually quieter than the standard one I took off.
