Hello again,

My VdP has an ECU fitted with the following numbers:

ADU 9334
84185F (the date code I believe)

But with regard to the ongoing running problems (see other thread) I purchased a new ECU (off Ebay) with the following numbers:

AUU1325E
Kd5 03952

(also has various numbers on the Lucas sticker)

My question is: Is the new unit the correct model for the 1985 1600 VdP I own (as I was assured by the seller).

Any help would be great.

Many thanks

Tim McMahon

I would have thought that someone with one of those Dealer parts CDs would have been able to tell you. but if not my line of attack would be to interegate your local rover dealer, if necesary make out that you want to buy a new one but at a later date so could they give you the part number, or something like that.

I know that my dealer would tell me but not all dealers are that helpfull and I do spend a fair ammount of money there.

Yes this is the correct part number this is the most current ECU available for the car.

Well so long as I can read right it is!

Hope this helps

If you or anyone else wants a copy (on CDR obviously!) of the Metro, Maestro, Montego, Rover 200, 400, 800 Electronic Parts Catalogue just like the dealerships use, I can send you one for, say, £5.50 inc. postage which is £2 cheaper than you can get it on e-bay and much cheaper than it costs from traders at the events. PM me if you are interested.

AUU 1325 E is correct for 1986 onwards which will work fine on earlier cars as well. 'E' means it was supplied as a rebuilt exchange unit.

Hello all,

Thanks for the replies.

Just one last question:

Any particular requirements for fitting the unit?

I assume:

1) Disconnect the battery - Negative only?
2) Unplug the old unit
3) Plug in the new unit
4) Reconnect the battery
5) Drive off into the sunset:rolleyes:

Thanks

Tim

sounds good to me but give it ten minutes between disconecting the battery and disconecting the ecu just to be on the safe side :)
