Anyone else tried this out? My insurance is up for renewal at the end of this month, so I thought I'd try getting some quotes. The camper was going to be £405 from the company it's been with for the last few years (which have been getting steadily more expensive!). Adrian Flux quoted me £214 with the club discount- guess who's getting my business this year!

Of the two club insurers... one of them quoted me about 6 grand, and the other wouldn't give me a quote at all because of my age... :banghead:

I was insured with Lancaster for a very competitive premium of £1,900 pa. This was myself as a named driver with provisional license on my dad's insurance for my Maestro 1.3. To compare to other companies, I had quotes from £2,500 to £6,000.

My dad also insured himself on 'GGT for a mere £150 pa.

Lancaster have just come up trumps for me: Agreed value based on invoices for work and pictures, unlimited mileage, f/comp, all mods declared, protected NCB...well, basically all the bells and whistles. That also includes adding the wife on.

£193.80!! :woohoo: I'm delighted and impressed!

Being old, safe and boring has its advantages sometimes! Can't wait to get the Maestro back....fingers crossed: it is going for an MOT today....

Not that I would do such a thing but you can play about with some of the details on your quote (occupation for instance) to see how it affects your premium.

After losing my NCB when the car got nicked we found it cheaper to insure the DLX in my wifes name with me as named driver £145 tpft. Bit different to the £600 Churchill wanted
