Anyone up for organising another convoy/meet up like the Manchester thing again near christmas time? We could go to the Dales/Lakes/Wales or Peaks again next time.
Maybe book xmas dinner at a pub and tell them to expect a big party.
Anyway what does anyone else think?

I'd say how about a Northern convoy and a Southern convoy to meet up somewhere in the Midlands, and have dinner at a pub near a Travel Inn or something? I've done that with forum meets before and it's been a great success.

great idea,maria!
that way we all get to meet and none of us have had to travel much further than anyone else.
(unless you northerners think you are too good to meet us southerners)
lol:laugh:

Yes of course we do! ;)
Nah only joking, where nice down south to go tho'?. Needs to be somewhere pretty.
Anyone any sugestions? Probably somewhere just past birmingham would be most appropritate. But no idea what is down there!

How about Billing Aquadrome near Northampton? I've been to several van shows there and it's a really nice place for all kinds of shows.:D

the thing with us is,we love travelling about, but with steves gout it makes it a bit difficult at the moment.

Jokes aside, I've been to Suffolk a couple of times and it's very nice in the Summer especially on the seafront.

Definitely somewhere Midlandsish and easily accessible from the motorway. Maybe something like a Brewsters / Brewers Fayre with a Travel Inn next door for those with long journeys or who'd like to hit the bar?

count steve in for the bar!!
he's more willing to go to meets after yesterday.(dare i say he enjoyed himself?)
as long as they don't take all day to get to, we'll be there!

I know! How about Hatton Country World outside Coventry. The NSVA had their first show of this year up there. It has a countryside style visitors centre.:D

Hatton Country Park is by all accounts a good venue, and it's pretty central for those of us in England and Wales who choose to come. Possibly a bit far for members in Scotland though.
I'd say this sounds promising.

Hopefully F170 GGT will be attending the next event, will there be a convoy, a la M Car Rally?

Yeah, why not? Ties in to the idea of 2 convoys, one from oop north and the other from dahn sarf.
Any plans for the Maestro's 21st next year? We could use this as a rehearsal - we learned a few things we would do differently next time, on the inaugural M-Car Rally (exchange mobile phone numbers beforehand, possibly radio comms) as well as what we got right (good route instructions and everything else, really).
Shame we seem to have two seperate threads going on what appears to be the same meet, though, can they be tied together somehow?

i was just thinking that!
do we tie them together, or have two meets?
suggestions,guys?
(tony, feel free to join in,i was only joking yesterday)

Bugger just replied to the other one thinking it was just the one meet :)
Yes we could have two meets, might be a bit much to organise tho.
Yes exchanging telephone numbers would be good next time....We did have radio commmunications on the M car Rally :) Both the camper vans had a PMR in them :) If anyone else has any PMR's maybe they could bring the next time.

Instead of organising two runs for the end of the year - perhaps we could all converge on Cowley with a Covoy coming from the north and one from the south? It would be good to have as many people as possible there, and Cowley sounds like a good place to meet being the 'spiritual' home of the Maestro & Montego.

Yeah we weren't sure it was the bloke who threatened to call the police on us at our photo on winnats pass. Whether he had actually called them or not?

we agree with rd gelder, if the north lot arrange their convoy between them, possibly using the same route of the m car rally, or part of it as that would save them some headaches.
we will have a word with south lot and sort a route out between us, for this end.
malc and atv will be easy to sort as they live nearest.
we can't do it on 13/14 september, as we have other things on then.
so from our point it will have to be dec, or another date.
so, lets all get our thinking caps on,and talk to each other!!

looks like atv and i will see you all in the bar then!!
