You must go to Parkway Services in Ledbury and buy yourself some spares NOW! Don't delay go to Ledbury today!
I'd heard that they have complete assemblies with drive shaft, wheel bearing, caliper, break disc etc for about £40. I went there yesterday armed with £40 and ended up spending over £200 on loads of brand new parts including:
Drive shaft assembly
Front damper assembly
Rear hub assembly
Fuel tank
FUEL FILLER NECK!
Interior trim including plastic kick panel covers
Rear seatbelts
Wiper arms
Brake Master Cylinder
Boot lid struts
Complete set of Suspension bushes.
As well as all the stuff at their main garage, there is also an HGV container with pretty much every fitting you could need for a mk 2 Maestro (especially the steel bumpered variant).
Go and buy it NOW - Mick doesn't know how long he can hold on to the stuff so if you need anything at all you shouldn't delay.
Don't say I didn't tell you when you need something like a new parcel shelf and can't find one...

Well there is only one problem with that i dont live anywhere near ledbury. George could do with lots of new bits! :rage:

Yeah, I had that problem, still it was really worth the 280 mile round trip. Why not take George for a good long cruise?
Infact having a 1.3 Maestro (as you do) you'll be in luck as all their stock relates to the 1.3 variant.
No excuses - go and get a bargain! :p
PS granted: you may live further from Ledbury than me...

Can someone give direction to this place in Ledbury, as we have mate nearby who may be able to go and purchase some stuff for us. Oh and does someone have a number as well?
Cheers

Gareth - Check your email!
Parkway Services couldn't be easier to find. Take J2 off the M50 and drive on the A317 (or whatever the A road is called - can't remember!) towards Ledbury. You're looking for a Murco filling station on the left hand side about 3 miles from the M50 junction.
Mick is the guy you need to speak to.
Telephone number is: 01531 636252
Post code is: HR8 2JG if you want to look it up on multimap.
Take cash.

I live about 20 miles away from Ledbury. I've been there before a few times but never to the Ledbury Maestro place. Its just the other side of Malvern. If people wanted specific items picking up and forwarding on, i could get across at the weekend?

He will get p'eed off if you turn up out the blue!! Best thing to do is to ring him with a list of stuff you want, as his store of stuff is in a container and he cant always get into it at the drop of a hat!

Phoned them today. Mick was not there today, but they did confirm they still have a shed load of spares and 3 LHD Maestros left in the back. He will be back for the rest of the week. Will try again later. They did say they were open on Saturdays, which is usefull....

Went yesterday. Came home with bootload of Maestro bits, no money and a bol***ing from the misus about the bank account etc etc.... :nonono:
They still have so many bits left! But from what I've heard from the few chaps that have not been made redundant over the few depos Parkway run (about 50! chaps have gone so far), the parts, and possibly the Maestro bits may dissapear in the next few months. So you have been warned.
For late Maestro 1.3 with steel bumpers ( Saloon and Van) they still have, brand new, amongst other parts, the following:
All the suspension parts, fuel tanks, braking system complete, most interior plastics in flint grey, engines, gearboxes, seats (UK Clubman style), door cards, starters, alternators, endless nuts, bolts, clips, hose clips, radiators, exhaust downpipes, headlamps (LHD & RHD covertion parts), LH front indcator lamps, tail lamps, parcel shelf, 2 headlinings without sunroof, 1 bootcarpet (half length), locksets, gear linkages, cooling system hoses, plus many other parts I've forgotten about.
They still have 2 LHD Maestros left. They both have about 30K miles on the clock, a few bashes on the front but on the wings / front panel, so easy to fix. They are registered on G plates (they don't have any catalists on, so they did them G reg to get round this) They want about £1100 each....

Did not ask that (as obvious at it seems now!) but my guess would be no. Only "bolt on " bits....

There is one white bonnet left, there was a passenger front door, but thats now in my dining room.
I was up there (again) on Monday, and saw all the parts you were getting layed out!!
The supply is not infinate, and things will start to dwindle, however, he has bags of expansion tank caps!! Basically, get it while you can, as I really do not know where you are going to get a new door button from in 5 years, or maybe in 5 months time.

I'm amazed that they've kept the parts as long as they have, so I guess that this was inevitable. Is there any possibility that the club could purchase the parts from Ledders as a job-lot? I fear that they may end up as landfill otherwise and that'd be tragic. I'd be happy to help in any way I can - it's a shame I don't have more cash and storage space!
On the subject of panels, the only ones left are a pair of steel-bumpered style front wings.
I'd better get over there pretty quick and get the damper assemblies that I need for A335 before it's too late.

This topic has been discussed many times... we clearly would like to purchase a job lot - but the problem isnt the money its the storage. Most of the committee have there garages and lofts stocked solid with club spares - theres no way we could store everything ledbury has and we cant afford to rent a lock-up either.
Perhaps we could look into purchasing a few of the rarer items?

What are you after then, body panels wise?
I will have to get my Master Cylinder and Rear Brake Load sensor then, it would seem.
If there are others going to Ledbury, how about we make a get-together of it?

Hmm, I would have to ask questions at work, seeing as they have open storage space for several thousand cars and vans!

I have booked myself in for Monday afternoon, off to see what all the fuss is about - and plus, you can't own a car that was built there and not at least see it for yourself!

I don't think those parts are going to go away. I asked him how long we had to buy stuff from he before he ditched it all. His answer was "as long as i'm here" basically.

I noticed last time I was there that they purvey Grey Imports now, so I could go up to get some custom parts for my Toyotas as well. Cracking! :toothy:

Its worth the visit not just for the parts, but with weather as good as it's been today, it's really a very beautiful place to visit. The town of Ledbury is great for a walk about in the sunshine, and your in the Malvern Hills too, so there are some good drives about aswell. I have had a good explore round the area today and its very nice.
What better way to spend the afternoon than in your Maestro, window's down, a boot full of part's, an empty wallet and some warm sunshine. Bliss.
:toothy:
And for those who haven't been, here is the garage itself...

How much do they charge for dashboards at Ledbury? :worried:
Jonathan

Dashboard assemblies are no longer available, the last one was taken a few weeks ago apparently.

in a couple of weeks Ill be working about 5 mins away from that place for about three months, I was going to make the purchase of a new dashboard and engine, but now I look like just buying an engine....
I am quite sure he only had LHD ones anyway, or maybe thats all he has left?
I'm going back again next week!!££££ :worried:

Nothing like a five year old thread, and you can tell I'm getting a little desperate, but do we think there's any of the Ledbury Maestro spares left? Rich left it an open book almost, and I was just wondering.

No, all gone now.
I tried to get in touch with them 2 or 3 years ago now, rang and rang with no answer, finally someone retuned a call, and he said the parts were all but gone, and they had sort of closed down, and the guy who I used to deal with there had left. However I sent a fax of parts I wanted to see if they had, and he said he would let me know what on the list they had.
I'm still waiting for a reply....
