I'll find out who to credit this to when I'm online later, but here's a cracking pic of B606 WBM our race-spec MG1600 (the red one!) cocking a wheel at Russell Chicane at Snetterton on Sunday :D

Is it just 1600 Maestro's in the "class" that you race or are there other cars as well? Is it limited to engine cc and is it very well supported?

It's Kelvin Fagan's pic, I now know, so thanks Kelvin if you ever drop by to read this board :D

The MGOC championship class this car is in, caters for theoretically any MG Maestro or Montego (including estates!!), and new ZRs, and at the mo has mainly 2.0EFis but some 1600s. The 2.0s have a limited number of mods available, but you can do just about anything to the 1600 engine.

Ours was built originally to Hot Hatch regs, so we've had quite a bit of work to make it MGOC compatible.

It's quite a well supported series - cars are cheap to buy and keep up, and readily available (hint, hint!), and the grid is usually a decent size - at least 20 cars.

I remember seeing the MGOC racing at Thruxton years ago when I went to watch the European Truck racing championship. They're pretty darn quick are'nt they?

I saw the EuroTrucks and MGOC at Thruxton a few weeks ago. Yep, they're pretty quick :D

I'll see if I can get Chris to put some in-car footage on the web for the non-bandwidth-challenged :)

There used to be a racing MG Maestie just up the road from me. It's going back quite a while now. It was white and turquiose. The name on it was Johnson. They went on to have a Renault Clio after that. Ring any bells?

Not offhand, no. We've only been MGOCing for the last 2 years.

I tried to post some Maestro racing/Rally pictures earlier but the web site told me that the pictures were "too big". The pictures i have range are 605-695 KB. Is this too big and is there any way i can get them on? I scanned them 1st and then placed them into my picture file.
I tried to rely to the post with a small bit of text "blah blah etc" and then add the photo's by putting (only one pic) in the "attach file" box.
Am i doing it right?
Are the Pics too big?
Surely F170 GGT (the king of pics) can help!
Any help is appreciated, keep it simple though as I'm no computer Whizz!
Thanks in anticipation

Ok, the pics should be about 35k big, you should be able to resize them using your image software.

700k will take about 5mins to download for me on my connection to put it into context.

Hope that helps

Ok try opening it with microsoft photo editor which comes with xp as standard.

You need to go to image resize...

try to resize it to Width 1.94 and Height 1.31 or something like that

Hope that helps

Lindsey

Resizing pics on Photo Editor, as above when choosing the 'resize' size:confused: you can select 'pixels' as units as opposed to centimetres (cm) or whatever. If memory serves, the largest size pics the Forum will accept are 500*500 pixels. I always use pixels.

Could be talking cross-eyed badger spit, but I understand what I mean, I think...

Works fine - I've uploaded it to my webspace. Do you have a bigger version at all?

Yes i have other/larger pics but i cannot seem to get a happy medium between either too big (unable to load/post) or too small
I have tried to email them directly to you Maria via the site but it says that your contact address is blocked?
When i reduce them they seem too small and when i increase they become blured?
