OooO - Certainly shows mine up! Looks like a real lovely car, that. But FCS, it's a 2.0i not EFi! :fim:

I see it's got the optional PAS...very useful on a 2.0i which I've heard can be like trucks to park without PAS

That`s a cracking car by the look of it and combined with the money thrown at it and it`s onviosuly enthusiastic owner it should prove to be a very nice car for the lucky new owner.

It's certainly heavy, can manage it myself though...

2.0 Efi's and and 2.0 i's are just the same, they just dropped the 'ef' on later cars as it was no longer needed, as everyone new what 'i' stood for.

Is the MG steering heavier than the maestro diesels? :worried:

Is the MG steering heavier than the maestro diesels? :worried:
It's heavier than a Ledbury and that's a diesel car with a petrol engine. I expect the extra front end weight in a diesel would make it heavier. So yes, it's probably on a par with the diesel.

I think my 2.0i would win an award for heavy steering - the front tyres are admittedly nearly slick though..... :horror:

Are they inflated correctly?

How about the gearing of the steering? are all manual steering maestros the same?
I've never had an issue with the HLE steering weight, but of cause its only a 1.3 and I've never driven a 1.6 or a 2.0l, once drove a manual non-turbo diesel and was horrified by the steering, noise, and low gearing. :worried:
The HLE's steering is much easier than my manual steering early R8 214.

You should have tried my last BX!
A 1.7 n/a diesel with economy to die for but Christ was that steering ever heavy? I`m quite a big lad but even backing out of an average car park would nearly make my muscles pop out of my arms.
AS someone has mentioned diesels are heavier engines so that sure doesn`t help matters.
A bit of extra wind in the tyres does help but not from standstill when some twonk has parked their 4x4 three inches from your back bumper.
