A friend is installing a digital dash in his ledbury and so needs to add a few bits of wiring to make the digidash work.

The bits that need adding are the speedo transducer, and the temp gauge, and then the speaker wiring (I think we'll be leaving out the fuel flow transdicer at the moment). There might be more though so I'm all ears.

Anyone got any ideas on the colours and where they need wiring in to on the dash plug?
I've not found any mention of it in the wiring diagrams I've got to hand.

Anyone got any ideas please?

Many many thanks. I'll take a look and see if I can construct a FAQ article on it.

Many thanks for the info so far. The only problem I've not got is the temperature gauge. On the 1.6's that is was originally installed in the temperature sender was a two pin one, however on the 1.3 it is now installed in there is only a 1 pin sender. Is there anyway to make the gauge work properly with this system?

The 'one pin' and 'two pin' senders are a straight swap. I changed from the latter to the former on my 1.6 Monty when I removed the auto choke last century, I fitted a 'one pin' sender from a scrapyard Mini.

Do they fit the 1.3 though?

Rich's Monty 1.3 has one, so yes. We swapped the 'one pin' sender on the new engine for the 'two pin' one fitted to the old engine at the weekend.

I got my 'one pin' sender from a Mini 1000 (A-series) and it fitted the thermostat housing on my 1.6 Monty.

That's moves between both engines in both directions. Or something (it's been a long day so far) .

I don't see why this won't work, so you have the 'Smith' Guarantee that it will be ok ;) .
