Hello there, can anyone tell me the service limit thickness of brake disks on a Montego turbo diesel please. I can`t get a Haynes until next week and need to do the work this week...

Cheers

The Maestro brake disk is 12.6 - 12.8mm.
The minimum pad thickness is 3.2mm.

Could well be. Brake discs and pads aren't prohibitively expensive, so if you're planning a long trip, it'd be as well to start off with a new set anyway. Take your wheels off and have a good look at the pads and disks you have on now and that should give you a good idea of their condition.

Maria, thanks for that. It`s for this Africa trip I posted a few days ago. Do you know any spares people around Norwich ? I don`t need genuine parts as I`ll be selling the car after (if!!) we arrive at the other end 3 weeks later. I`ve just got to achieve a UK MOT as cheaply as poss for the European part of the trip.

Cheers
