Weather looks a bit off - but the car looks as nice as always! That reminds me are you still bringing it on the M Car Rally?
I do have a tent, but I haven't been camping in it yet. Don't think I ever will at this rate!

Yes we have just been on a fortnight tour of Scotland camping in the rover 214, and also have been camping in scotland, ireland and france on my motorbike too. Never done it with the maestro yet though. I've just bought a campervan to make up for lost time!

is that a standard tent/awning for a camper? only asking because i've not seen one before.

I love camping. I used to go quite a lot but now the girlfriend and I tend to have a camping trip to Derbyshire or Cumbria for a few days every year. I have a fairly small, neat 2 man tent (nothing you could stand up in!) and the necessary gear - nothing better than getting out into the open for a few days. I bet there have been a few pretty rammed campsites in England over the last few weekends!

It's a Caranex (http://www.caranex.co.uk/) awning. They're designed to fit on the back of rear-opening vans and so have the door on the side. It's really handy as it a) removes the need for contortionism getting changed in the camper or trying to convert between travel and sleep layout while still in the van, b) gives you somewhere to stash all the junk you inariably end up carrying round (in our case folding chairs, gazebo, BBQ stuff), and c) means you can leave the back door or window of the van open (essential in this weather!) and padlock the awning shut.

I haven't been "serious" camping in it yet - it's mostly used for motorsport weekends. Beats a tent any day!

Nope. I'm not saying anything. ;) :)
There's a 50 - 50 chance that it could be F170 GGT...

You'll get more of a surprise when Tony turns up in his yellow Hy*ndai Am*ca! ;)
That isn't true is it? ;)

Ok, Ok... I'll give you a few clues as to which Maestro I'll be taking.

It's a 1.3 ;), it has a 1 in its' number plate, the model name has an L in it, and its' colour has "Red" in it.
And that's all true!

Not in a million years!

I like my creature comforts, and I don't have space for a camper van ;)

I love camping, but unfortunately the kids and late missus weren't so keen. Looking to start again, probably next year at this rate but there is a chance of a night under canvas at Abersoch this weekend before the M-car Rally on monday (if I get the carpets down in the new place this week...:banghead: ).

Any Forum Members fancy a night under canvas at some point? No, almost certainly not the best offer you'll get this decade...

The other other Rich.
