View Full Version : The 'Non-Adjusting' Front Seat

Recently I have discovered that the front passenger seat in 'one of my cars' (Not saying which one, to save embarassment) has decided that it will only lock in one position.

When the lever underneath is pulled, the seat will freely move backwards and forwards. However it just keeps sliding in such a manner and doesn't lock back into place. Well it does, but only in one certain place.

I haven't attempted to fix this problem yet, but am I right in thinking it's probably a 'non-springy' spring causing this?

Help appreciated. :spanner:

Probably either dirt in the mechanism or a slight misalignment or as you say a broken or weak spring that engauges the locking mechanism into the runners at the bottom.

D'oheth! Just been out to have a fiddle with it (so to speak) and the bugger's working now.

I'm so embarassed... :fim:

Thanks anyway.
