I've been asked by somebody I know to advertise his H reg Montego. The tax and mot runs out in a few days and he needs it removed urgently. The body has seen better days, as seen in the pictures but it is a good runner and has two almost brand new tyres. Please see his description below

QUOTE" It's a grey/silver (sort of two-tone with black as the other colour, previous owners idea I think to cover up rust) 1.6LX
H reg Jan 1990...
Mechanically it's generally OK, the only trouble I had in two years was the driver's door electric window motor going and was replaced (you know about that of course) and the pressure sensor failed and was replaced.

Things waiting to be done:

1. The passenger door electric window needs doing (part is still in the boot waiting to be fitted)

2. One of the inlet gaskets needs doing, it's not that much of a problem for me with my low mileage, but does take in a bit more petrol than usual.

3. There's rusting (there's a surprise!) around wheelarches, lower door areas and the rear lights mostly.
Both sills have been welded for the last two MOTs so there shouldn't be any major welding required now, just patching up and rubbing down....TLC which I cannot give to it now

4. The edge of the off-side rear bumper has a minor crack that'll need patching up & the light panel above it has been cracked too (someone clonked it and drove off..) not been done due to advice about a lot of filler being required once the old one comes out....

Good points:
Two very new front tyres about 300 miles only which cost me about £80 two months ago, I have the Haynes manual and the old books for it too.

Also please note:

Ed, also forgot to mention the cracked driver's mirror glass, again someone helpfully smacked it! Also has been keyed both sides, thankfully not that deep, so no rust but will obiously need rubbing down. As you can tell, mine is not a low car-crime area!
Radio/cassette (original I think) with some decent speakers that I put in to replace the old ones and sunroof both work well...no leaks from the roof either which is a plus.

thanks again...perhaps someone can still use it/strip it"END QUOTE

He is looking for about £80, really to cover the new tyres. The car is located in London. If anyone is interested in the car, please let me know and I'll put you in touch.
