Congatulations, never had the front page pleasure myself (but the again I'm not worthy) Lovely to see your car, and I'd love to see it in the flesh, as it were. Still, I hope you enjoyed my old Montego article...a tale from the heart!

Talking of fame I was thinking just the same. Although not getting the prestige of being featured on the cover of Monstro, i've spotted my 2.0i in no less than 4 pictures from MG 'M' in Monstro including a colour one on the back page! Just annoyed that I couldnt get to the BL Rally due to working 12 hour nights :rage:

Not yet appeared in Monstro (and why not, I ask :) ) but G51 has appeared in MG Enthusiast (a few times, once on the front cover in 2000), Safety Fast (the MGCC mag), an American mag for an article on British hot-hatches (the name of which escapes me), and is to appear in Gran Turismo 4.
Anyone else had their car featured in magazines? E.g.: whose was the lovely Maestro Turbo featured recently in Practical Classics?

Yep ... in the Historic Cars section. They're even using the number-plate, so it really will be my car. Sony invited me down to Millbrook Proving Ground in April for them to photograph it. They must have taken over 300 shots of it. And as thanks from a multi-billion-dollar organisation like Sony, all I got was a lousy tankfull of petrol for the journey home!
Ah well, I don't suppose I did it for the money, but to "Further The Good Cause And Spread The Word"

I'd have to get a PS2 before I can get that game, but I'll be having it! Have a go at whooping the odd Suburu Imprezas like the good ol' days when we had the 1.6 LX !

The engine and exhaust were recorded at 1000rpm increments all the way up to 6000rpm. They took about 10 shots of the interior.

Hmmm, I've looked on the internet for this MG Maestro on GT4, and I haven't seen it. There is an official cars list, which includes an "MG EX257 LMP" - could this be your Maestro??
:banghead:

Nope, that'll be the Le Mans car.

The list doing the rounds on the 'net that claims to show all the cars that will feature in GT4 is NOT an official list. In fact, there isn't an official list; least not one on the 'net. The so-called 'official list' is mainly a "wish-list" - and an old one at that - and is NOT based on any official communication/leak from Sony or Polyphony Digital (the software house programming the game). About two month’s ago I was contacted by Sony to confirm various details about the car that weren’t asked on the day, such as BHP, tracking, wheelbase and gear-ratios, so the car must be ‘in’ or they wouldn’t have asked.
