Why does it have the seats of the L? In my (continental) brochures the HL had more plush velour kind of seats. Or was this changed in 86 only?

These seats were standard issue for the HL until the back end of 1985 (86MY). My first Maestro was a 1.6 HL on a B plate (Jan 85) and I remember fitting a stereo to a colleague's 1.3HL in 1992. That too had the same trim and was on a B plate but had done all of 9000 miles. The thing I most remember about my Maestro (silver leaf/ice blue trim/ prussian blue dash belts and carpet) was the massive static electric shocks I used to get out of it on exiting the vehicle.

That car looks an absolute gem...if my £30 runaround Astra wasn't so good I'd have bid on it myself.

Anyone want a lovely Astra for £250!!! :D
