I always look out for them when visiting my girlfriend in Italy but sadly I've not seen any Maesties there yet. One monty and an old-shape Metro yes, but no Maesties :(
I *did* however see a really lovely LHD black Maestro with 23,000 km on the clock in Cambridge once - maybe that had come from Europe...?

I saw two when I went to the Algarve: A diesel van and a white MG 2.0i with spanish plates.

Prague is gorgeous - if I were you I'd stop there for a while! Fabulous place, I can't wait to go back there.
I have never seen a Maestro in Europe, sadly, although I look out for them. There was a distinct lack of them in Croatia last month! I did see one in the Caribbean last summer though - it was parked outside our hotel on Antigua and had an Antiguan number plate. I have a photo which I will endeavour to post tonight.

I just thought, if ever you are in the Algarve in Portugal, you'll see a lot of 1.3l Montegos there.

While i was on my hols in Spain this year, there must have been at least six Montego's in the area we were staying - all completely rust free and perfect.
Incidentally, the only Maestro i saw was British.
Just a couple of the Montego's spotted...

Most of the Montego's seemed to have Rover badges on them. I presume they were sold as Rover's on the Continent?

Interestingly - the Spanish do not seem to bother about abandoning their cars where they expire by the road-side.

hello,
well only seen two montegos, an estate one in switzerland with swiss plates and one in hungary with hungarian plates! both in relatively good nick! no maestys! none in spotted in italy, france, austria, germany or hungary! alls well, back in prague as now skint and its pretty here, so why not.
we hired a car for a while, it was a f*rd f*c*s brand new and it did everything but wipe your bum. the driving here was very interesting and nearly bumped the thing more than once, too fancy for me. still put has put me off f*rds more nowadays.
will keep you posted as to sightings!

I just came back from Italy and can report a total of 0 Maestro sightings, 0 Montego sightings and only 1 old-style Metro sighting, ( also 1,000s of Rover 100s).
The Metro in question *was* a VP tho, so that probably is equal in real terms to 1 non VP Maestro sighting.
That means my Italy total so far is:
Maestros: 0
Montegos: 1
Metros : 2
Adjusted in real terms:
Maestros: 1
Montegos: 1
Metros : 1
I will, of course, keep you updated should anything develop in this matter.

Hmm, just at the mo there is a Maestro parked in front of my house :-)
Well, there are 8 Maestros (at least) in or near my town, and not all of them belong to me! There are quite a few Montegos around in Germany, it is usually easier to try and spot a Monty Estate then a new shape BMW 7series :-) - there are no saloons though except one MG which is not on the road since a longer time.

Alexander

yup - I have one :)
I live in Australia
Haven't seen any other ones though, or Maestro's
I think this one was imported around 1996 or some time ... can't remember from the compliance plate but pretty sure
