I am rather concerned about a difference in chassis numbers in my MOT certificates for the new Maestro.
The most distant two end in the numbers 214908, but the other two end with 21498 and 21495.
The number on the actual car is 214908, which is the same as the first two - the rest are somehow different.
What's gone wrong??? :banghead: :(

Remember to check the next time you buy a car.
It is worth checking their are no ambiguities on MOT certificates and all the details are correct on the V5, especially VIN no. and the engine number.

If you ask me it's a simple error when the ticket was written out, as they may have copied it from the previous certificate, the hand writing may not have been clearly readable for the tester. Far more important is if the numbers match up on the V5, the number stamped into the body and the vin plate. Who would want to ring a 1.3 Maestro twice???

if the chasis number looks like it hasnt been altred (on the car) then I wouldnt worry.
as long as the v5 matches the car it will be ok. put it down to a mad MOT tester or somthing!
why dont you pay for one of those veichle checks to put your mind at rest?
finaly. i wish you good luck with the new car, my advice would be to get the rust cut out as soon as you can afford to do it, im desperatly trying to save up for this myself, my car is in good condition and people regularly comment on that but the rust is starting to creep in to the rear arch on the drivers side and is spreading like wild fire. i need a new arch and sill. the worst thing about maestro ownership has to be the sight of rust eating away at your pride and joy. if i had the space id get another car like yours to have as an off the road project
good luck,
andy
