Removed and bridged the wires connected to the cooling fan sensor switch on the radiator, there's power there but the fan sdoesn't turn, so I guess the fan itself is gone. Is that a straight replacement or are there further things I can check?
Thanks.

Hi, sounds like the fan may be seized up. They sometimes can be freed off but most of the time you need to fit a new motor.

What often happens is that when bridged the fan then attampts to turn then as it is often seized blows the fuse so check that there is still power there.

Sometimes they can be freed up. Drop some drops of oil into the motor spindle and then spin it over by hand until it is free-ish. Then you can connect a battery or large capacity battery charger (25amps), then leave it to spin for 10 mins or so. I've fixed one or two like this before and they are still going strong. it is a kill or cure way of fixing it but you've got nothing to lose. Any fan from a maestro or montego should fit if you need a replacement.
