I have quickly put some pictures on the web of the event for people to see.

Not all the pictures are up yet! The page will currently take ages to load for those of you on a 56k connnection as well. Sorry its a bit of a rush job. I will sort it out with thumbnails tomorrow night.

Ok the page is Nene Park, Peterborough (http://mysite.freeserve.com/nene_park_2003)

Lindsey

p.s Couple of pics aren't loading right either, must have corrupted the file whilst uploading. I'll sort it tomorrow.

Well, at least the weather was perfect this weekend. Whose is that turquiose Monty? They've done a fantastic job there!

Great pics and quickly posted. Hopefully mine will be on an interweb by tomorrow.

Well done on choosing the right car to be the first picture by the way!

Lovely Pics, Scatiechik! - I, too will hopefully get some of my pictures online later on today or tomorrow.

What a great day it was, great weather, great turn out and fantastic amounts of autojumble.

I went looking for 2 Monty x-spoke alloys, a PAS pump, electric window motor, drivers door skin, rear quater panel and a few other things. Didn't get any of those (especially not the PAS pump, eh Maria? :)).

BUT I did get one thing that was worth more to me than all that put together - being as I'm having a replacement rear quater panel on F153 I was in need of the VP logo and coachline. Rover parts just laughed at me when I asked on Saturday. I cannot believe that I found one on a Tarp yesterday, exactly the right colour as well! Also got a new Radiator (thanks Gareth - didn't fit MaestroMatt's car), carb, VP radiator grille, Maestro badges and loads of other things.

It was great to meet up with some forum people as well. I'll let you know when the pictures are available.

No pictures of any Turbo's then..... They were poorly represented on the MMOC stand. I think i only saw one turbo there, and that was mine.

I got the best deal of the day, I think - a brand new, boxed trip computer / voice unit for a tenner. Would go for 10 times that on e-bay. Like F153, I failed to get the parts I really need, but did come home with a few nice bits. And I will certainly never be short of polishing cloth again!

Damned radiatior I bought didn't fit. Managed to pass it on to some mug for twice what I paid for it though. ;)

F153, you got a VP grille??!!

I think that makes us even for the PAS pump!

I had a great day out as usual. Slightly sunburnt, but that was more than made up for by everything else. 28 cars was a fantastic turnout and I think having such a wide variety of models (No less than 2 Monty cabrios, 4 or 5 VPs, camper, race car and all the other cars, mostly in absolutely fabulous condition) really made the stand "stand" out! We must have been pretty much tied with the ACI for biggest stand there.

I hope to get my pics developed soon to add to the site, and I'm sure there will be a full report in the next magazine. Speaking of magazines, look for the camper in Classic Car Weekly, hopefully next Wednesday. The reporter was very impressed with the stand, and remarked on how nice it was that we had a club for Maestros and Montegos and that we were all obviously so enthusiastic :)

Fraid not, someone pointed you out, went to go over and speak, take some piccies. But you drove off just as I was coming over. Oh well maybe next time.

As I have got the pleasure of writing an article for our work newsletter on the Nene Park event, could people please send me any photos on non maestro and montego cars that were there as otherwise the people at work may discover my obsession with these cars!

If you PM me I'll pass on my work address

It was a great event, especially for the club with lots of interesting people and cars there. My only regret is that I didn't take any suncream!

Owww Ohhh Oww.

I will post all my pics tonight which includes a fair few non-Maestro pics. Feel free to pinch them from the webpage when it appears.

Thanks Lindsey, very efficient - never thought I'd find photos up by the time I got back last night! :) I got quite a few of my own and we've photographed every car present on the stand between us, hoping to get mine developed this week in time to put something up at the weekend.

I had the best weekend I've had in a long time, and I'm still grinning after the first decent drive in the MG in several months, now well and truly back on form - how I've missed it! Traffic was a nightmare going up on Saturday though. Managed to resist buying any spares but, as usual, unintentionally ended up expanding my literature collection quite a bit.

We seemed to have most models represented, especially nice to see so many unspoiled early cars too. With good weather (perhaps a bit too good!), perfect company and so much to see I don't think anyone could have asked for more. Thanks to all who participated, same again next year...

I have now uploaded the rest of the pictures.

Still a bit slow with a 56k connection, but i haven't screamed at it yet, so it can't be that bad :)

Yeah, congratulations Simon. You had the best reason of everyone for not being there on Sunday.

Couldn't have happened to a nicer car, either :)

Thank you everybody for your kind words. We had a fantastic wedding day. FRB did sterling service as the honeymoon vehicle too, for a short break for us in Bournemouth. Guess who got severely sunburned shoulders on Sunday?? AAARRRGGGHHH!!!!
