Too much oil

I've been a bit silly and overfilled Doris with oil. Quite a bit over.

I thought if I stuck a tube down the dipstick tube I could syphone it out, but I havent got a narrow enough tube - will anything terrible happen if I drive the car to get a bit of tube?

all the habndbooks say its dangerous for engines to do this I think too much pressure builds up cos there nowhere for the excess oil to go unlike the expansion tank for coolant.

I'd be incolined to take the sump bung of and drain some out you can always pop a bit back in if the plug doesn't screww back in immediately. Oh and wear some disposable gloves if you've got a pair!

I thought of that but basically at the moment because of physical limitations I can't get at the sump plug, so I did drive it today (gently) and got some tubing, I'll have a go tomorrow.
