Everyone seems to be moaning about what is right and wrong on these forums,
It seems to me that if you've been here a while you can get away with virtually anything but!!!
If you join and butt in on the conversation then you have your post's removed and a moderator sending pm's.
As I said to F170 GGT can we all bury the hatchet???
I thought this was a forum for sensible discussion not a free for all on having a go at each other!!!.
If you want to tell me to sod off then fair play but, I'd like it to go back to the time when we were not back biting.
That's all I have to say, thanx
Steve.

Thare aren't any hatchets to be buried, are there? It's quite simple really, we'll act on anything that we consider contravenes the terms of use which are applicable to everyone, including me. A light hearted dig at a pop group or anything else is quite acceptable (especially in the case of Girls Aloud.. oops sorry!) - at the end of the day most of us can take that sort of thing - after all it's not the member that's being picked on is it.
If a post does offend you don't explode in public, drop me or one of the other mods a note and we'll take a look.

Not true! I've been visiting the Maestro Web since 1998 and i'm still treated like an outsider, dont worry about it.

Too true. Since I joined the Forum I have been looking at all the threads that were way down the list and replying to them with my own opinions, although not many of them have inspired any of you to respond. I just hope all the old threads are not dead because there is a lot of very interesting stuff down there, and I'm sure that all the guests who read them will find them interesting and reply to them too if and when they join the forum.
Lets see some more of these threads brought back up, eh?:D :D :D

I know exactly how you feel, however i think it's best you don't say anymore, at the very least, this topic will be closed, and at the worse you may be banned for voicing your opinions is such a way. Sorry to say this chaps but the club is very clickly and if your not directly involved with it then thats just tough...Hence why i'll be on a different stand @ the BL Rally.

sorry for the abrupt reply m8 but it seems that we are all alone in liking montys and maestros, obviously if you own one you're not welcome in the club!!!! even though you own one! ******** to this I've got better things to do, but it's a shame as I enjoyed the banter:)

The issue may be more petty than that. Although i see my self involved in-directly with the club, having contributed quite a bit in the early days, there was a time when i was a member and recieved nothing from the club for what seemed like a year IIRC. Didn't seem worth it to pay for little benefit, more recently there was also the small matter of me being friends with someone who used to be in charge of a section of the club, things went sour with him as he didnt have the time anymore and because of this i was ignored (assumption i know but not far from the truth)
If you havent paid to be a club member you may be seen as not being an asset to the club, especially if you don't hang out in the group or see eye to eye with certain people. And thats where my problem lies, because i'm a bad image for the club, and apart from this forum which i continue to freqeunt because i like helping people out, i have nothing to do with it. The MGM Group to me has more to offer, not to mention Rovertech.Net and now the new Performance Rover Group.

cheers Gareth but if you have read the post i put on here you will see i can handle myself.
i just think its a bit sad that the moderators feel they have to keep interfering in decent chats, especially when they then do the thing that they have told you off for.

One problem with almost any organisation or community such as this one is that it's just not possible to please everyone, we can only please the majority. In the case of online discussion forums (which are provided at not inconsiderable time and expense) that invariably results in this silly perception of a "them and us" situation by certain users. Unmoderated forums don't work, you only need to look at usenet to see that. If we left things to spiral out of control we'd upset another group of people.
If you don't like the way the forum is run constructive criticism is really helpful. If you still can't get along with how we do things then fair enough, everyone has their preferences and perhaps this forum isn't the one for you - there are alternatives so please by all means make use of them instead. Continuously coming back and complaining or telling us to "poke it" only serves to alienate you to everyone else.

I honestly do not understand what is making you believe that your are not part of the club. I don't see that being a member makes you any more (or not being a member making you any less) a part of the club. I don't want you to take this the wrong way Bandycat, but what exactly has happened to make you feel unwelcome to the club...???

Right, I left this thread open for constructive comments and it's already degenerated into a childish slanging match and a ground for people to libel the club. I think it's run its course now - anyone with anything further to add please feel free to PM me.
