Alignment may be out .

If its juddering may be a wheel bearing gone/going .

The main thing i will surgest is check your tyre. The wheel may simply be buckeled , from that little pot hole somewhere.. or the tyre may be "bulged" .. when you jack this up to check the tyre PLEASE use an axle stand.

using one saved my dads life! so please do , under any jacking sercamstances!

Sounds like a CV joint to me or possibly a wheel bearing.

Jack the front left wheel up - use an axle stand as a safety measure as suggested

Thentry and wobble the wheel up and down and left and right. You might feel a tiny bit of play, and more than the tinesty amount then you'll need a new wheel bearing. Assuming this is ok then move on to the CV joints.

rotate the wheel (engine out of gear) and notice how easy and smooth it is so turn. Then apply full steering lock in both directions and then rotate the wheel again. If the wheel feels "notchy" when rotated like there is something sticking or you can hear it click-click-click when rotated then you have a dead CV joint, (most likely the outer one). You can then repeat this test for the other side of the car to compare the two.

As for more power wait till you get the CV joint fixed as with more power it'll probably disintegrate leaving you stranded!

I'm trying to write up a how to tune your diesel so if you are patient it'll hopefully be making an appearance when I get a minute.
