I want to get an idea of who is coming to the Mallory Park MGOC Championship on the 19th June.

As it is my first race with a new super fast engine and two days before my birthday it makes perfect sense that on the evening of the 18th we have bit of a bash, a few bevvies and a knees up!

I will be booking a table in a local pub and wondered how many of you would like to join me and others and as it is almost my birthday i may be buying the beers!!

Incase you didn't know Mallory Park is a planned club social event, and I am planning to be there.

The Windmill Inn (http://www.thewindmillinn.net/)

Can we camp at the venue or near The Windmill Inn? Many of the usual suspects like camping overnight with a BBQ and a few drinks but a pub would make a welcome change.

I'm definitely planning to be there  .

Well I will start off the list, for those who haven't watched Maestro Racing before I can say it is much more fun than the F1. I had a great laugh last time I watched. Certainly plenty of overtaking and scary manoeuvres to watch. Come and support our sponsored race car. Which from reading Phils website should have the new engine in for Mallory Park.

From reading above list is :-

Lindsey (Camping)
Dan (Camping)
Tony
Rich Smith

(Please copy the list into the next post and add your name underneath)

Dave

Le Man is for beer bellied campervaners. MG racing is for oil ragged men!

Slightly off topic here but why dont the MMOC have a championship for the turbo's?

Dave

I think the simple answer is there just isnt enough turbo's to race! The EFi is much more accessible and much cheaper to race than a turbo would be....

I may be wrong, but could you race a turbo in the same class as these guys race there EFI's?

I think the series/class rules only allow maestro and montego's with EFI or 1.6 engines in the class. I did have a link to the rules somewhere but I can't find it at the moment.

Correct, only 1600 or EFi variants, including MG Montego Estates (Tony...? :D). The point of the championship is to have reasonable parity of performance between variants. The turbo would probably have performance beyond even the tweaked 2.0EFis, even with restrictions. And, as Dave says, there are so few turbos it would be a shame to race them!
