I need a headlining, you probably need a headlining. In fact, pretty much everyone who owns a Maestro needs a new headlining from Rover. The trouble is, they are £115 each. What do you think the chances are of getting them at a substantially discounted price if we bulk buy (either by grouping together or by the club buying, say, 10 then selling them on to the members)? Surely Rover would be glad to shift a few...

Well this is the point! We need to club together and buy a load at a discount - if the club bought 10 or something, surely Rover would sell them cheap - they'd be glad to be rid of them!

I still reckon making your own could be easily done and to a far better standard than the original rover ones, perhaps someone in the club has the necessary skills to make up a mould from an old donated dead one.
A couple of options spring to mind for materials (I'm a materials scientist after all) Fibreglass or even a water soaked hardboard type material. If my garage wasn't quite so full of campervan (needing new head lining) I'd have a go myself.

The new Rover ones are very high quality. I don't know if you had the chance to look in F153JUE at the BMC day, but she has a very new headlining and it looks superb. I would buy one like a shot if it was £70 but I am still thinking twice about the £115 even though I can't fit my new electric sunroof - ripped out of a Monty only last weekend - until I get one (the Mk 1 Maesty has a different headlining with only one interior light).
