Tell us about yourself you interests, hell even what your cats are called if you think it'll give us a laugh! (Mine are called "Nuts" and "Bolts", no seriously they are!).

I joined to find a Maestro a good home, a task which I appear to have succeeded at! Now I find myself strangely drawn to this forum :worried:
Have to admit I'm now quite tempted to adopt a 7 seater Montego Countryman Diesel, once my red shed expires! ford escort estate :o
ps. My cat's called Smudge

Well I am not a new member by anymeans. I have been around for about two years now.
I joined up when the forum software changed (about two years ago) and read the forum for a while. I was a bit shy to join with my technical knowledge being limited and was worried my car might be frowned upon (it is and still is a tad rusty round the edges).
However I need not have worried, I quickly fitted in, so much so that I quickly found myself being membership secretary and the cars growing from one to five maestros :horror: You could say I am a complete Maestro Nut nowadays.
I am a research student by day, and also enjoy many hobbies as well as cars such as mountain biking.
I have no cats I am afraid, I need to work on the boyfriend a bit more ;)
I've been a member for a couple of years now and joined the forum at the beginning of last year when I found it while I was ill with glandular fever (not recommended, although I got a month off work).
Have been a Montego freak for ten years now and got my first Monty when I was 18, it was a 1987 Azure blue over hurricane grey 1.6L Monty saloon. Having owned over 20 Montegos now, I am finally settling with the ones I have although I am still searching for a VDP Estate or an Monty HLS, and a mint Mk1 Rover Sterling. I've given up pretending that I don't have Montego Fever as we all know that I will probably take on more Montys in the future, in fact, only last night, I spotted a mint moonraker blue Monty 1.6HL saloon in Ipswich... I WANT I WANT I WANT!!!
My cats name is Indy, also got 5 chickens and 2 goldfish.
I love chinese food, although have been on a diet since 4th of January and have lost 18lbs so far!!! I'm offended by sweetcorn, can't work it out. I drink a pint of milk a day and other than that, I only drink water. When I'm out drinking, a JD and coke is mine please! I have a huge dvd collection, a 42" widescreen TV and a Pioneer DVD/Laserdisc combi which is the dogs bits! My longterm aim is to plan and build my own house in the country with enough room for my "Montego Rescue Foundation" business!
I'm pretty shy in person and probably don't get as involved in shows/events as I should but hopefully I'll get to know people a lot better this year, especially now that my fleet are now getting finished and ready to show off.

I'm Maria, and have been a member of the club and forum almost since before it was possible to be.
My parents had 2 Maestros as I was growing up. One day I was bored and surfed the web, and found some nutter called Jonathan Sellars had made a website about Maestros. I emailed him, he wrote back, we got a conversation going, and the rest is history! There was enough interest in getting a club together, so Jonathan and a brave chap called David Slater started the ball rolling.
About 7 or 8 years ago (how time flies!) I was looking for a car of my own, and got my first car, a silver leaf Maestro VP, now in my garage looking very sorry for itself awaiting a full resto. I got the camper van next thanks to a lucky surf into Autotrader one day. The 3rd Maestro became mine when the 1.3 which had passed from my parents' ownership to my sister's was under threat of scrapping, and the 4th, the turbo, came thanks to an irresistible email. The 5th Maestro in the family belongs to my partner Chris, and is an MG1600 race car. My parents still own their other Maestro (silver 1.3HLE), although the poor thing's seen better days.
When not in a Maestro (haven't been for aaages :( ) I'm in a Rover 400 - my Christmas present to myself. I moved to an eccentric house in Winsford that matches my personality perfectly in July last year, and since have developed geeky obsessions with gardening and birdwatching. After starting work near Manchester Airport 2 and a bit years ago, the same applies to planespotting. I have an inability to get interested in anything without becoming obsessed, but thankfully usually stop short of the anorak and notepad
My bloke and I used to race radio controlled cars at a national level until it became stupidly expensive and Chris decided to get a Mighty Mini race car (still in the garage awaiting the future - bloody mortgage!). My cat's called Monnipenni (acquired from a colleague bearing the pretentious name, and generally just called Penny now). The neighbourhood cats are also discovering Penny's too stupid to use the cat flap and that it's taped open, so cat population is generally fluid, ranging between 1 and 3.
When not at home, I'm usually at a motor racing circuit, or club show. I study car restoration at college on a Monday night, and vehicle painting on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. When not doing any of the above, a large amount of my time at the moment is taken up by slogging through the club spares stock (it WILL be finished and online soon - promise!!) or being exhausted!
And that's quite enough waffle from me, so I'll shut up :D
MG MAL

Well,
Im Mal and so far have avoided becoming a member(Down! Lindsey! :toothy: )
Having been(and still am) a member of 5 Motoring based clubs thats enough for me for now. I have pretty much owned or driven nearly every type of road going thing there is, as well as many of the True classic as they are often refered to, Austin, Healey, Jags, MG, Triumph etc etc.
Currently convalesing after and accident in 2003, all though by trade I drive HGV for wisemans dairys.
By the looks of it I currently own the second largest drive (compared to Tony), which gets me rather worried at times, because there is always another M car that looks tasty enough to add to the collection.
I have Two MG BGT's, several Monty's, a 91 MG Maestro, and an 88 Mg Metro.
I too have a bedroom full of spares, due to which the common advisory from some here when visiting me is "Leave wallet at Home!" :toothy: .
I am slowly cutting my fleet to some thing more managable.
My cat is called Gizzy.

I'm Chris. I have a Maestro called Tiger and a cat called Angina... or, erm, something like that... ;)
Im 17 and passed my driving test in December 2004, my first car being my wonderful A reg 1.3L. Not sure how I ended up getting the Maestro bug (parents never owned one - although my uncle did...), but I'm well and truly smitten now, and recently purchased an A reg 1.6 VP. Space is fairly limited (although apparantly I'm luckier than some) so 2 cars is realistically all I can own at once - who knows what will happen in the future, though...
Hopefully putting the VP on the road shortly to give the 1.3L a well-earned break and much-needed restoration :spanner: Will be attending shows throughout this year so hope to meet lots more people!
