helllooooo to every one :)
ive recently been given a black maestro turbo,g reg,2 owners,68,000 miles.
as expected, its got a bit of rust here there and every where, but what im more concerned about is the engine.
it looks like headgasket/piston rings gone,as well as slipping clutch.
im not worried about fixing it as ill do it my self, but wander if they like cracking heads?ive got prices for all bits nessesary, and would like to get the car back on the road.it does run still, but fun to drive with no brakes lol :horror:
any help would be absolutly spiffing :hat:

They don't seem to be that prone to cracking heads but I guess it'll depend on how much abuse it has had..

Is it a genuine turbo or a copy? If its genuine then it is rare and sought after.. If you post the reg number or vin number of tickford number then Mr Orral will be along shortly to tell you if its genuine as he holds the register for these cars.

If the head is cracked then I think you can use a standard 2 litre head if you swap the valves over. (I think the turbo ones are sodium filled).

Ohh and last but not least welcome!

First of all - congratulaions on becoing a Turbo owner. Did John confirm that it was a Tickford - if so what number is it? As you may be aware, black is the rarest colour as only 49 were built.

Do you think it will be ready for this year's show season? If you came to the Bristol Classic Car Show on the 12th June you could meet up with other Turbo owners and display your car with red, green and white turbos.

It only costs £5 to display and proceeds go to Barnardo's. There is a thread in the Events and Meetings section if you want more details.

Give me the reg and I'll confirm its identity
