Had a slightly frustrating Maestroing session yesterday.
I have three Montego electric sunroof assemblies in the shed and though it'd be a really easy job to fit one to MaestroMatt's 1983 VP. The only proviso is that the solid panel (not glass) and upholstered panel (not slide) need to be kept.
Easy, I thought....
Well, we took the manual assembly out of Matt's car and compared it to the Monty one and they seem to be completely different.
I have two questions relating to this:
1) is there anyone who's successfully performed this mod?
2) assuming that the answer to 1) is no, did the design of the manual sunroof with solid panel change during production?
You see, I want to put an electric sunroof into JOE and retain the upholstered slide/solid panel so I'm hoping the design changed sometime before 1985!
I guess it may be a case of removing the assembly from JOE and hoping for the best!
We're taking it apart again tomorrow so if any photos would help then let me know!
