The reason for the jump in member numbers is that a web crawler from Inktomi, a search engine, has been looking through the site, and running searches, each of which opens a process on the database which shows as a guest user.
As long as it doesn't open so many processes that it overloads the forum database, it's nothing to worry about. It'll also mean we get listed on another search engine.
Looking at the forum stats, we had 3677 hits on the site in the whole of February (that's the whole site not just the forum), and in June we had 15,511. In July so far we've had 20,845! A lot of this will be down to this search engine, but even so, we're gaining in popularity!
In terms of visits, which is the number of times someone logs onto the site, irrespective of how many pages/topics/images they open, the stats look like this:
February: 190
June: 358
July to date: 440
So, keep up the good work and congratulations to Jonathan for making a site that continues to grow in excellent content and popularity! :D
