...just found a space on the web!

At long last, a website for the original Metro! If one car was overdue a dedicated enthusiast following - it's the Metro. When was the last time you saw a Mk1 Austin or MG - or even one badged as a 'miniMetro'? These cars used to be everywhere, but have almost vanished in a few short years. Enthusiasts are out there, but sadly nothing has brought them together before, unlike owners of Maestros and Montegos and the M&MOC

The Austin miniMetro (http://www.austinminimetro.co.uk) Website has been recently launched and already has a wealth of information about these cars. Hopefully it will grow and grow, as a website specialising for the A Series Metros has been long overdue.

It's well worth a look!

The site's remakably sparse for one which carries a copyright-notice spanning six years  ! I can see though that it's only just gone live.

There's been a Metro Owners Club for a few years; they even used to appear in Practical Classics' club guide at one point. I don't know how active they were though; never saw them at any of the MG Saloon Day meets

As for Metro sites, there have always been a few about. The best one for non-performance cars I always thought was this one:

...though it's not been updated for nearly two years now. It does have some good history and development-pages though.

I wish the new webmaster the best of luck with his venture.

There was one at Gaydon last year which used to belong to Princess Di - W-reg 1.0L I think. It was very basic. I think it is at the Coventry Motor Museum now.

I see a one regularly in Bristol queuing in traffic that have that miniMetro badge but there used to be one on every other drive... ah those were the days.

Do you mean this ©1999 - 2004 RMF Media at the bottom of the page? I think you will find that is for the web hosting solutions company and not this particular website, as if you have a read the person also hosts a number of other sites, recently becoming more involved in server hosting.
