Hi all, I'd like some advice about seats.

I bought a pair of very good condition second-hand seats at the weekend for my MG, and want to help them last longer before I fit them.

I also have a Morris Minor. There is a problem in that the straps underneath cut into the foam and wear out very quickly. I would like to avoid this happening to my new Maestro seats (it already is a tiny bit). I thought of removing the wire (WIRE!!! That's bound to cut into the foam) but the springs are so stiff they won't budge. I was going to fit a square of carpet or something then re-fit the wires, but this doesn't seem practical.

Does anyone have any ideas/advice?

Thanks in advance,

Neil

MGB seats have a rubber 'hammock' instead of springs under the seat for support. Maybe you could put a rubber footmat in between the springs and the foam?

Sorry - this is for an MG Maestro, not an MGB. Anyway, that's what I'd like to do, but I can't get the springs off - they're just too tight!
