I've spent the morning fitting Montego bonnet and wings on my MG Maestro. However I have a slight problem elsewhere, well it's quite urgent considering the weather we've got...

I put the electric front windows down, but the drivers one doesn't want to play 'wind back up' and remains in hiding inside the door. :banghead:

I can't leave it too long, as the wind we've got at the moment would surely suck the complete interior out. :worried:

Any advice people? I've checked the fuse but seems ok. :worried:

Im not to sure on how these work but i know on other cars there can be two operating arms , like you have on your door handles ( the rods ) . Its there a possability that , one of these sort of thing has come loose / Off?

steve,

first thing to try is to hold the switch in the up position wghilst slamming the door shut, might shock it into working.

Oh aye, that one was tried don't you worry. :)

I've since removed the glass and the mechanism/motor from the door, so now there's a black bin bag in it's place. :worried:

Motor is... erm... dead, I think. :banghead:

have you tested for 12v at the motor when the switch is pressed?

it might not be the motor, could be the controler, a quick fix to get it back up might have been to have put a 12V feed directly onto the motor.

its probably worth testing the system to find out which part is broken, then you can get the parts.

if you've still not got a multimeter, i should log onto ebay, or get a cheap one from a local B&Q etc.
