We've received more than a couple of complaints over the last month or so from users receiving unwanted emails and PMs promoting other websites and services. Only registered users of the site would be able to send these messages.
The rules about this are quite clear;
5.2 In using the Website/Services you agree not to:
5.2.1 use the Services to send junk email, spam, chain letters, pyramid schemes or any other unsolicited messages, commercial or otherwise.
If you are on the receiving end of such a message please let myself or one of the other moderators know. If the problem persists it is very possible that the accounts it's originating from can be traced and handled in the usual way.
